yes. later, i will be joining the whole world turn off their lights and anything related to it (laptop, tv, etc.) for the earth hour. in line with this. i've suddenly thought of few things how i could help in conserving our nature and somehow fighting against global warming. (or something close to it)
here are some ways of how to turn your old ways to earth-friendly ways!
1. water bottles
yes, with this season, it is a necessity for everyone to drink atleast 9 glasses of water (or more) per day to keep our body hydrated. but isn't it better if we'll just bring our own water bottles? this way we could save our P25 pesos for a bottle of water and an instance of having floods(because these bottles aren't biodegradable and ends up clogging our drainage system).
2. cloth bags
goin' shopping or grocery? why not bring a bag with you and dump everything you bought instead of using the sando/plastic bags that stores use? it saves your trash a lot of space plus its much stylish having a cloth bag 'cozyou won't look haggard having to bring a lot of plastics with you :)
3. charging
yes. almost everyone now has a phone with rhem and sometimes, we get oh!-so-lazy to charge it while we're awake. hence we do charge it while we're asleep. don't you know that almost 80% of the household fires are because of faulty wirings like this? so instead of charging it while youre sleeping, charge it first thing in the morning so you won't over charge your batteries and even prevent accidents like fires.
4. no to animal testing!
who said that mother nature is just the trees in the forests? of course not! nature consists of humans, animals, plants and the whole ecosystem (including the air) so why not make a change and buy only the stuffs that are not tested to animals. this way it lessens the probability of having more species being endangered. :)
5. save more trees!
being paperless doesn't necessarily mean that we're not going to have exams not take down notes anymore. it's about using our resources properly. why throw those notebooks if you could still write on some pages of it? save it and make a new notebook out of those papers that has no notes on it :)
6. close lights when not in use.
closing lights and unplugging the plugsfrom sockets are just some of the ways we could save watts from being used. it doesn't only give us the chance to save money from our electrical bill but also saves chances of fires and global warming to be at its peak.
7. computers? get a laptop.
yes, laptops may be a lot expensive than desktops but buying it saves energy because you can use the battery of the laptop for maximum of 8 hours meaning you don't have to plus and pay for the watts youre using :)
